The seating installation has begun. This will also contain storage space for equipment.
Welcome to the Blog for the Soarability Gliding Simulator. This Blog will give an overview of the design and build of the gliding simulator for the disabled, to be based in Cunderdin in Western Australia. This simulator will be part of a wider project to bring gliding to the disabled, and also the wider community.

Projector
Hi Everyone
Long time since the last post. Lots has been happening, but nothing blog-worthy.
The projector arrived a while ago, and I have finally found the time to quickly set it up in the trailer to check the throw. The photo below shows how the image fits almost perfectly onto the side wall. Obviously the screen isn't in yet, and the projector will eventually be mounted on the roof, which will correct the vertical alignment.
Even so, it is exciting to see the image lighting up the inside of the trailer!
Stay tuned!

The Real Thing!
For a brief change, and for those of you getting tired of looking at trailers, here are some images of the actual K21Mi that will be 'partnered' with the simulator. It arrived along with the sim fuselage this week. As you can see, they are pretty much identical, and I will be attempting to follow through on those similarities as much as I can.
You can see the hand controlled rudder as a large lever on the left hand side next to the air brake. Hopefully it will be fully rigged and flying shortly!

Fuselage arrives in Oz

The fuselage has arrived! Unfortunately I haven't seen it yet, but that should be changing shortly.
From the pictures I have seen, it looks fantastic! I can't wait to get my hands on it and start the fit out.

The Trailer Arrives!
After a bit of a wait, the trailer has finally arrived. It looks great, and while it is large, it is easy to move around and isn't too heavy. This means I can tow it with my car which is not something I expected!
I can now start to measure it up and fit it out. Very exciting!

Not Long Now
All has been a bit quiet on the blog for a little while. But that will be changing soon. I will be taking delivery of the trailer in around a week, and the fuselage will be arriving in December.
Watch this space . . .

Trailer Update
Hi Everyone
A quick update on the trailer. The build is progressing well and should be completed in the next 2-3 weeks. It is very big, but still relatively easy to move around and still liftable at the hitch. It also has plenty of room inside for wheelchairs, extra seating and a nice big projected image.
Very exciting! More updates soon.
